- chicken breast 8 oz
- minced garlic (marinade) 1.5 tsp
- soy sauce (marinade) 1.5 tsp
- mirin (marinade) 0.67 tsp
- cornstarch (marinade) 1 tsp
- sugar (marinade) 0.5 tsp
- salt (marinade) 0.25 tsp
- white pepper (marinade) 0.125 tsp
- chicken broth (sauce) 0.33 cup
- black soy sauce (sauce) 2 tsp
- sesame oil (sauce) 2 tsp
- rice vinegar (sauce) 2 tbsp
- ketchup (sauce) 2 tbsp
- sugar (sauce) 1 tbsp
- soy sauce (sauce) 2 tsp
- cornstarch (sauce) 1.5 tsp
- salt (sauce) 0.25 tsp
- brown onion 0.5 whole
- broccoli 1 cup
- white rice, rinsed 1 cup
- water (for rice) 1.5 cup
- chicken broth (for rice) 0.5 cup
- butter (for rice) 0.5 tbsp
Instructions

Dice the chicken and toss with the marinade ingredients; rest 15 minutes.

Cook the rice with the water, chicken broth, butter, and a little salt (Instant Pot: 5 minutes, natural release).

Whisk together all the sauce ingredients.

Stir-fry the chicken until golden, then add the onion and broccoli.

Pour in the sauce and cook until glossy and thickened.

Serve over the rice.
